Against a backdrop of growing climate challenges, the transition to a green, inclusive and resilient economy has become a strategic challenge for the Government of the Republic of Cameroon. Another challenge goes with it: the need to explore new development niches able to reconcile economic growth, improved human well-being and social equity, while reducing environmental risks and resource scarcity. This approach, aligned with the SND30, led the Government, through MINEFOP, to set up the Green Jobs Promotion Programme in Cameroon (PPEVC), whose objective is to create and/or green 120,000 decent jobs by 2030 while contributing to the preservation of the environment and to the structural transformation of the economy.
To promote and publicise the programme's activities, Green Jobs Week (SEV) is organised. On the occasion of its 2nd edition, to be held from 16 to 20 October 2026 at the Majestic esplanade in Yaoundé (University of Yaoundé 1), the national "Best Green Entrepreneur" competition is launched.
Held under the theme "Green entrepreneurship and ecological transition: what opportunities for sustainable jobs for young people?", this competition aims to identify, showcase and support entrepreneurial initiatives with a strong ecological, social and local impact carried out by young people, with an emphasis on women and people living with a disability.
MINEFOP is launching a national competition for young green entrepreneurs, as part of the 2nd Green Jobs Week (16-20 October 2026, Yaoundé). Who can apply: ages 18-35, with a green project (energy, waste, sustainable agriculture, eco-construction…)
