1. Who is responsible

This website is published by the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training (MINEFOP), Republic of Cameroon, 65-67 Avenue Charles de Gaulle, Yaoundé, Cameroun. Questions about your data: contact@minefop.gov.cm.

2. In short

  • You can browse the whole website without giving any personal information.
  • We only collect what you choose to send us (contact form) or agree to share (your location).
  • We do not sell, rent or give your data to third parties, and we use no advertising trackers.

3. What we collect and why

DataWhyHow long
Contact form: name, email, phone (optional), subject, message, the service you chose To answer your request. The message is forwarded by email to the competent service. As long as needed to handle the request, then kept in the Ministry's administrative records. Replies sent to you are archived.
Visit statistics: pages viewed, date, whether the visit looks automated To know which pages are useful and improve the website. Page counts are kept. To count each visitor once a day we use a scrambled code (a one-way "hash") computed from the connection; neither the IP address nor this code can identify you, and the code is deleted after 2 days.
Your location - only if you click "Share": approximate position and its accuracy, the page you were on, language, phone or computer To know in which regions the website is used. Kept for statistics. It is anonymous: no name, no IP address, nothing that links it to you. If you refuse, only the refusal is counted, with no position.
Staff sign-ins to the administration area (Ministry staff only): username, date, IP address, browser and - only if accepted - location Security of accounts (detecting unusual sign-ins). Kept for security purposes; viewable only by the site's super-administrators.

4. Location: always optional

On your first visit, a small box asks whether you want to share your location. Nothing is requested from your browser unless you click Share; your browser then asks for your permission too. Clicking No thanks or closing the box has no consequence on how the website works. We remember your answer in your browser so we don't ask again. You can also block location for this site at any time in your browser settings.

5. Cookies and browser storage

  • Language (django_language): remembers French or English when you switch.
  • Security (csrftoken): protects forms against fraudulent submissions.
  • Session (sessionid): only for Ministry staff signed in to the administration area.
  • Location answer (minefop-location-asked, stored in your browser, never sent to us): avoids asking you twice.

No advertising or third-party tracking cookies are used.

6. Third-party content

Some pages display content hosted elsewhere: the map on the contact page (Esri satellite imagery), and a few partner logos and links. When your browser loads them, those services receive your IP address as for any website, under their own policies. Links to other websites (for example Google Maps for event addresses) open those sites, which have their own rules.

7. Security

The website is served only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to the administration area and to messages is limited to authorised Ministry staff.

8. Your rights

In accordance with the legislation in force in Cameroon, you can ask to access, correct or delete personal data concerning you, or object to its use, by writing to contact@minefop.gov.cm or by post to the Ministry. Note that anonymous data (statistics, shared locations) cannot be traced back to you and therefore cannot be retrieved individually.

9. Changes

This policy may be updated when the website changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
